Tara & Maboud

Maboud and Tara: We have been creatively in love with the Dances of Universal Peace for multiple decades. Our individual lives and partnership have been inspired, broken open, healed, and transformed by the living presence of the Dances and especially the sacred phrases of the Sufi mystical tradition, the Beautiful Names. We are blessed to have received and embodied a whole new repertoire of Dances of Universal Peace, many of them attuning to the sacred divine qualities of wholeness and unity, traditionally called the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah, or "Wasifa". These energies of the Beloved have entered our lives through dreams, nature, and even at train stations. We are Dance mentors and Sufi guides, sharing our love for the Dances locally in Santa Fe, USA, and internationally. We lead bi-annual residential gatherings, called Hummingbird Wasifa and Dance Retreats in the mountains near Santa Fe. Parenting, and now grand parenting, continues to be an amazing challenge, practice of presence, and a unique delight in our lives. ​

Tara Andrea: For many years, I was called to houses and bedsides of many people in need of loving assistance and also hospice care. One of the greatest joys in my life was dancing with the teenagers and then young adults at the German dance camp every summer for many years.

Maboud Charles: I have worked as a licensed clinical counselor for several decades. I have been enriched by integrating my relationship with the Dances and the Beautiful Names into the work with my counseling clients. i have published a book of nature photos and wasifa-inspired prayers called, The Wonders of Waters: Reflections of Being Self & Soul.
